Blocks Available for Leasing in Gulf of Mexico OCS Oil and Gas Lease Sale 172

NOTE: The Final Notice of Sale for Sale 172 was published in the Federal Register on February 12, 1999 (64 FR 7485). On that same day, an appeal of the termination of the lease on Viosca Knoll Block 69 was filed with the MMS. It is the policy of MMS not to offer for leasing blocks which have lease terminations under appeal.  Therefore, although shown as available for leasing in the document "Blocks Available for Leasing in Gulf of Mexico OCS Oil and Gas Sale 172" included in the Final Sale Notice Package for Sale 172, no bids will be accepted on Viosca Knoll Block 69 in Sale 172; any bids submitted on Viosca Knoll Block 69 for Sale 172 will be returned unopened to the submitter.

The documents below have been changed to reflect this modification; thus they differ in this respect from the printed documents available through the Gulf of Mexico Public Information Unit.
