9	7	LEASE	LEASE_NUMBER - The number assigned to a lease by the regulatory agency having jurisdiction over mineral activity in the territory where the lease is located.
16	2	AREA	AREA_CODE -The designated abbreviation assigned to Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) geographical units for identification purposes and for use on maps and in data bases.
18	6	Block	BLOCK_NUMBER -Identifies a subdivision of an Official Protraction Diagram.
24	6	EIA	EIA_FIELD_CODE -The unique indentifier assigned to an oil and gas field by the Energy Information Agency (EIA).
30	30	DESIGNATED OPERATOR	SORT_NAME -The name of the business entity doing business on the OCS used for sorting purposes. For example, The Louisana Land and Exploration Company would have a short name of LOUISIANA LAND AND EXPLORATION COMPANY, THE and therefore sort with business entities whose name begins with "L."
60	8	EFF DATE	FLD_LSE_EFF_DATE -The year and month a lease is assigned to a field.
68	8	E/T/R/C* DATE	FLD_LSE_EXPIR_DT -The year and month a lease is no longer associated with a field.
76	1	E/T/R/C*	LEASE_STATUS_CD -Identifies the development stage of the lease as assigned by the Minerals Management Service's Office of Leasing and Environment.
77	35	PORTION OF LEASE WITHIN THE FIELD	FLD_LSE_DESC -Describes that portion, in quarter, quarter, quarter (i.e., ne/4, ne/4, se/4) of a lease that is part of the field.
