Indicated Hydrocarbon List
The Addendum to the Indicated Hydrocarbon List (June 1997) is now available from the Resource Evaluation Office of the Minerals Management Service. The list identifies unleased tracts in the Central and Western Gulf of Mexico that have well bores with indicated hydrocarbons. In the future, an updated Indicated Hydrocarbon List will be made available to the public approximately three months prior to each Gulf of Mexico sale.
The unleased tracts with hydrocarbons in the Central and Western Gulf of Mexico are grouped into three classes: Class F: tracts that were fields or portions of fields that produced.
Class C: tracts that never produced, but had at least one well bore that contained hydrocarbons of sufficient quantity and/or quality to have met the requirements of 30 CFR 250.11, had the data been submitted by the operator, that is, a well bore capable of producing hydrocarbons in paying quantities. These blocks are also referred to in MMS bid adequacy procedures as confirmed tracts in most instances.
Class Q: tracts with a well bore that qualified under 30 CFR 250.11, but did not produce.
Basic information relating to production, well bores, and pay range for every tract in each class is included in the list. If a Class in either the Central or Western is missing, there was no new data to report.
