The Minerals Management Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior proudly announces the selection of Mr. Charles J. Schoennagel as the Deputy Regional Director of the Gulf of Mexico OCS Region.

Mr. Schoennagel graduated with a bachelor of science degree in engineering science from the University of New Orleans and has qualified as a Professional Engineer in Petroleum Engineering for the State of Louisiana.  He has 25 years of Federal experience in oil and gas exploration and development operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

The MMS is the Federal agency that manages the Nation’s oil and gas and other mineral resources on the OCS and collects, accounts for and last year disbursed about $6 billion in revenues from Federal offshore leases and Federal and Indian onshore mineral leases.
