MMS to Hold Information Session for Well Log Submittal NTL’s

The Minerals Management Service will conduct an information session in New Orleans to discuss the recently issued NTL’s (NTL 2004-N03, NTL 2004-G07, and NTL 2004-G07 Addendum 1) concerning Well Records Submittal, New Well Log Contractor, and Directional Survey Format.  Information to be covered will include:

• Change to 12-digit API number
• New well logs and curves to submit
• New well log Contractor
• Submission of velocity profiles and surveys
• Submission of paleo, geochem, sidewall and conventional core analysis
• Submission of End of Operations Report (Form MMS-125)
• When and where to submit each type of data
• New directional survey format

The session will be held on July 28, 2004, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the MMS Gulf of Mexico OCS Region Office at 1201 Elmwood Park Blvd., Jefferson, Louisiana  70123.

The Minerals Management Service is the federal agency in the U.S. Department of the Interior that manages the nation’s oil, natural gas, and other mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf in Federal offshore waters.  The agency also collects, accounts for, and disburses mineral revenues from Federal and American Indian lands.  MMS disbursed more than $8 billion in FY 2003 and more than $135 billion since the agency was created in 1982.  Nearly $1 billion from those revenues go into the Land and Water Conservation Fund annually for the acquisition and development of state and Federal park and recreation lands.
